Who I Am

Visionary drive.
Human intelligence.

I'm a strategic executive who operates at the intersection of AI transformation, organizational design, and human systems. Currently Chief of Staff to the Global Head of Consulting at Wipro, I partner with executive leadership to shape the operating architecture for a consulting-led, AI-native business.

What sets me apart isn't just what I know — it's how I see. I read the informal networks, the influence dynamics, and the invisible work that determines whether transformation succeeds or stalls. Then I build the systems, governance, and narratives that make it move.

I created two original frameworks — QPH and OQ — because I needed language for things organizations experience but rarely name. I speak at conferences, advise leaders, and write about the organizational intelligence that separates good teams from great ones.

"I thrive where complexity demands both precision and persuasion."

Claude Skills

Distilled by AI
from human essence.

These aren't self-reported skills or job titles chosen for SEO. They were distilled by Claude (Anthropic) from 15 years of career data, an integrated personality analysis, two original frameworks, and a structured interview — to surface the capabilities that are genuinely, irreducibly mine.

Methodology · README
Claude analyzed career history, Apt personality assessment, QPH + OQ frameworks, and structured interview responses to identify skills that are specific to Nicole — not categories she fits into.

Organizational Quotient (OQ)
Organizational Intelligence · Power Mapping · Subtext
Two people, same meeting, same information. One walks out knowing exactly what happened. The other thought it was a perfectly nice conversation. Same room. Completely different game.

I founded the OQ framework — Organizational Quotient — because I kept seeing what others couldn't name. OQ is the ability to navigate the unspoken rules, power structures, and decision dynamics of corporate life. Where EQ helps you understand emotions, OQ is about understanding the organization itself: who actually has influence, where decisions were really made, which "let's circle back" meant no. In any meeting, I can tell you which moves are load-bearing and which are theater.

Load-Bearing Presence
Social Capital · Relational Infrastructure · Energy as Deliverable
Strip away the person everyone likes talking to, and watch what happens. Information stops flowing. Teams fragment. Meetings become performative. That person isn't decorative. They're load-bearing.

The QPH series I write is about people whose value lives in the space between job descriptions. I am one of them. I've been called "the mayor" at a former company. I've been the "ghost boss" — advocating for cross-functional colleagues in rooms they're not in. I emceed a global town hall in a festive holiday hat and got messages afterward that weren't about the content — they were about how it felt to be in the room. Energy is a deliverable. It's what people remember when the game is over.

The Craft of Candor
Political Intelligence · Strategic Communication · Influence Architecture
Politics doesn't kill directness. It funds it. You stay direct about the what and get political about the where, the when, and the who.

I am, by temperament, direct. My reviews have their own vocabulary for it. But I learned that bluntness without craft just gets you labeled difficult. The craft buys the candor. I pay for directness through setup: the pre-wiring, the channel choice, the friend I made six months ago so this conversation goes well today. I design communication architectures — sequencing up first, then team, then stakeholders. And when the room needs it, I throw the truth grenade. I'm the one who says the thing that moves everyone forward.

The Processing Engine
Sense-making · Clarity Under Pressure · Strategic Ambiguity
Your job is to be the processing engine — take all the emotions, process them into fact, separate logic from feeling, and move the whole system forward.

When three colleagues left in six months during COVID — while I'd just started a new job and was pregnant with my second child — I didn't spiral. I found paths around, through, under, and over the problems. Got promoted while on maternity leave. I run on the MacGyver principle: any problem can be solved with a little ingenuity. I've also spent years unlearning the early-career instinct to equate busyness with value. The processing engine isn't just about handling chaos — it's about knowing which chaos is worth handling.

Human-AI Sequencing
AI Strategy · Operating Models · Future of Work
I've been doing this work since before it had a name. The question isn't what AI can do. It's what humans should own — and what AI should amplify.

I built AI strategy at News Corp when most organizations were still debating whether AI was real. Cultivated relationships with Google and OpenAI before those relationships were fashionable. Now at Wipro, I'm designing the human-AI handoff architecture for a global consulting practice. The same dual-channel reading that lets me navigate organizational politics is what makes me good at this: I understand what humans are actually doing when they make decisions — so I know precisely where AI fits and where it doesn't.

Built From Scratch

Ideas I built
from scratch.

Two original frameworks and two programs I founded — because the ideas worth pursuing rarely arrive with a name or a budget attached.

QPH
Qualified Personality Hire
Organizational Intelligence Framework

A publication and framework on the invisible work that makes organizations function. The QPH framework identifies and champions the connective roles that accelerate execution — making the case that these roles are deeply strategic, not merely soft. If you've ever been told you're "a culture add" when you're actually the reason the organization moves, this is for you.

OQ
Organizational Quotient
Leadership Intelligence Framework · "From Pawn to Player"

A framework examining how influence, trust, informal networks, and decision-making dynamics shape organizational outcomes — published as "From Pawn to Player." The OQ reframes leadership effectiveness through the strategic lens of chess: not about the pieces you have, but how you see the board. Your IQ tells you how smart you are. Your EQ tells you how emotionally aware you are. Your OQ tells you how well you navigate power.

Beyond the Work
Copycat Brother — children's picture book written by Nicole Castillo
Published Author · Picture Book

I also wrote a
children's book.

Copycat Brother

Valentina loves everything about kitties — drawing them, reading about them, even wearing sparkly kitty ears. But when her little brother Dario wants to copy everything she does, Valentina learns that sharing her special world isn't always easy. From sibling squabbles to creative adventures, this playful picture book shows how love can shine through even the messiest moments — a heartwarming (and hilarious) story about the magic of siblings, the joy of imagination, and discovering that the best adventures are the ones you share.

"I wrote it as a love letter to my two kids and this gloriously chaotic chapter of our lives — something they'll (hopefully) look back on fondly, and proof to myself that I could."
